Who Should Play
In Fireboy and Watergirl 3: Ice Temple, the goal is to guide Fireboy and Watergirl safely to their respective exit doors in each level: Fireboy needs to enter the red door, and Watergirl needs to enter the blue door. Both should successfully enter their doors for the level to be completed. You should skillfully utilize the mechanisms within each level to create the conditions for clearing them. By cleverly manipulating the ice and fire environments, planning your route, and coordinating your dual actions, you will ultimately complete the entire adventure by clearing all levels and collecting every diamond.
How to Play
- Fireboy cannot touch water or he fails; Watergirl cannot touch fire or she fails; neither can traverse green slime areas.
- Water surfaces and passable mechanisms in levels can be frozen into ice. Ice and snow are safe to walk on, though Watergirl moves significantly slower.
- Each level has two separate exits: Fireboy needs to enter the red door, and Watergirl needs to enter the blue door. Both should successfully exit their respective doors to complete the level.
- Most mechanisms require one character to trigger them (e.g., stepping on switches) while the other passes through, emphasizing dual-character coordination and timing.
- If either character touches a deadly element and dies, the entire level immediately resets and restarts from the beginning.
Controls:
Fireboy: Use the arrow keys (↑ ← →) to move and jump. Watergirl: Use the W, A, D keys to move and jump (W to jump, A to move left, D to move right).
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Each character should enter the exclusive one: Fireboy should enter the red door, and Watergirl should enter the blue door. The level is only completed when both characters successfully enter their respective doors. The order doesn't matter, but both must complete their exits.
Can't she run faster? This is a game mechanic. Snow surfaces inherently slow Watergirl down.
If either character touches water, fire, or green slime, the entire level resets immediately. You restart from the beginning. There are currently no mid-level save points, but most levels are designed for quick retries.
Or are two players required? Solo play is fully supported! Use the arrow keys to control Fireboy and WASD for Watergirl. Of course, two-player co-op is also available—each player controls one character for smoother real-time coordination.
