In Fireboy and Watergirl 2: Light Temple, your core goal is to guide Fireboy and Watergirl safely to the exit of each level. To do this, you must skillfully use the temple’s mechanisms—including prisms, light beams, crates, and switches—through coordinated actions to activate platforms, unlock doors, and clear obstacles. The two characters need to work in tandem: Fireboy can only traverse red fiery areas, while Watergirl is suited for blue watery paths. Remember, Fireboy will fail if he touches water, and Watergirl gets eliminated upon contact with fire. As you progress, puzzles evolve from basic challenges to more complex cooperative operations that test your teamwork. Conquer all levels, collect the corresponding diamonds, and complete the challenges as quickly as possible to achieve the perfect full-completion ending.
How to Play
- In Fireboy and Watergirl 2: Light Temple, players must guide Fireboy and Watergirl through the tricky traps of the Temple of Light, ultimately leading them safely to their respective exits. The two characters must act in perfect synergy—neither can succeed alone. A level is only completed when both successfully step into their designated exit doors.
- Fireboy and Watergirl each have a fatal weakness: Fireboy fails instantly upon touching water, while Watergirl vanishes if she comes into contact with fire. You’ll need to constantly keep an eye on fire and water elements in the environment, map out safe paths, and steer clear of forbidden zones as you progress.

Fireboy: Use the arrow keys (↑ ← →) to move and jump. Watergirl: Use the W, A, D keys to move and jump (W = Jump, A = Move Left, D = Move Right).

No. Each character has a dedicated exit door—Fireboy must enter the red door, and Watergirl the blue door. A level is only completed when both successfully enter their respective doors. The order doesn’t matter, but neither can be missing.
Are there checkpoints? Yes, the game currently has no mid-level checkpoints. If either character touches water, fire, or gets trapped by obstacles, the entire level restarts. However, most basic levels are short, making it easy to retry quickly and optimize your route.
Solo play is fully supported! You can control both characters alone, taking turns to solve puzzles. Of course, local 2-player co-op is also available—one player controls Fireboy, the other Watergirl—for a smoother, more collaborative experience.
Diamonds are optional collectibles for players aiming for a perfect run. Skipping diamonds won’t impact the game’s final outcome—you just need both characters to reach their exits to pass a level. But collecting all diamonds brings a greater sense of achievement.
